Safari Itinerary
- DAY 1 : Arusha/Moshi - Serengeti South – Ndutu Area
We’ll pick you up from your hotel accommodation in Arusha or airport at 6:30am to Ndutu. Lake Ndutu area, situated in the Ngorongoro conservation area, part of the southern Serengeti eco-system. Lake Ndutu is alkaline, like most of the other Rift lakes, however, the water is still drinkable and used by a wide array of local wildlife. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephant, birds and resident game. At 6:00pm you will return to your accommodation.
- DAY 2 : Ndutu Area
Start your day with a game drive in Ndutu Area after breakfast and then back to the camp for lunch then resume game drive at Ndutu. In the wilderness, tracking the Great migration trails. A thorough explanation of this great world event that Tanzania proud of will be provided. And in the evening as the sun goes down, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration. At 6:00pm you will return to your accommodation.
- DAY 3 : Ndutu – Seronera
In the morning after breakfast at 7:00am you will begin moving to Seronera. The park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the “big five”, named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion: the Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. African Leopard: these reclusive predators are commonly seen around. At 6:00pm you will return to your accommodation.
- DAY 4 : Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at 7:00am, we’ll continue the game drive in central Serengeti. A million wildebeest… each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again. In the afternoon, we’ll proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
- DAY 5 : Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha/Moshi
After an early breakfast, you will drive down the steep and narrow road that takes you into the crater. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to savannah. Here, the wildlife is just breathtaking and with a little luck, you can observe the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard—in just a few hours. You should also see warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After a morning dedicated to game viewing and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the early afternoon to drive back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening.
